Bingo Green

What’s your favourite colour of bingo and why is it green? Bingo is a game that comes in many forms and many colours too. While most developers diversify their offerings based on features, here you get to pick your bingo based on colours. In fairness, there’s not much between the various forms of bingo so you might as well go with Bingo Green. This game does have more in its favour than its colour after all. For example, you’ve got the ability to play four bingo cards in a row. That isn’t novel admittedly but it is handy.

The other thing that’s commendable about Bingo Green is that it’s fully mobile-compatible. The game works a treat on touchscreen devices, from iPhone to Android and from smartphone to tablet. It also works well on desktop, and there’s even an option of running it in Flash, though why you’d want to is a mystery. The desktop version of this game doesn’t go full screen, instead taking up the left side of the screen only, but that’s only a minor issue in reality.

How Do You Like Yours?

Bingo is about as easy as games get and yet its simplicity doesn’t detract from the playing experience one iota. The only tough decisions you face with Bingo Green don’t pertain to strategy or playing technique, because there isn’t any. Instead you’ve got to decide how you want to play. It’s written there in bold letters the moment the game loads: “How do you want to play?” You have three options, the same three as you get with all of the other bingo games this developer has released. You can mark your cards manually, have them marked automatically or you can select reveal all.

This last option is certainly the quickest. Select it and then watch as the balls are drawn and matching numbers ticked off in an instant – or three seconds or so, which is close enough. If you’d prefer to take your time, because it’s nice to go through life without rushing things, you could instead go for automatic marking. That way each ball is drawn and marked off in turn and you can watch the process without needing to get involved. Kick back on the sofa, put your feet up and leave your fate with the gods. Finally, the manual method is most like playing bingo in real life in that you have to tick off each number in turn yourself using the dabber that’s supplied, or a digital facsimile of one at least.

Pick a Colour

If you have gone for the manual method, you’ll be prompted to choose your colour before the game commences. This is purely the colour of the ink you’ll be dabbing onto each of your bingo numbers. This might seem trivial, but some players will appreciate the ability to customise this and make the game their own...or something like that. Blue, green, pink and purple are the lucky colours at your disposal. After that, the game board will be revealed in all its glory and you’ll discover that you’re looking at 75-ball bingo, for the action takes place on a 5x5 grid.

There are four cards and so you’ve got four chances to win and the value of the prizes shown on each card increases in turn. So card 1 is the cheapest, with a top prize of 100 coins for completing four corners and a minimum prize of of 3 coins for a single row. A column is worth 6 and a diagonal is worth 20. On card 2, the values increase to 10, 30 and 1,000 in the case of four corners. On card 3 that goes up to 10,000 and on card 4 it’s the full 100,000. How many gamblers have completed four corners on card 1, won the 100 coin prize and then bemoaned the fact that this didn’t occur on card 4? Quite a few you could imagine.

Bingo Green Conclusion

Bingo Green is a no nonsense bingo game, one that combines the convenience of playing online with some of the skeuomorphic elements synonymous with playing in a bingo hall like the provision of a dabber. Although there’s nothing startlingly original to be seen here, this is a game which works well on mobile and tablet and provides simple pleasures, whether you’ve chosen to play for fun or to play for real money. The animations are simple and the audio is so-so, but none of this stuff matters in the grand scheme of things. Bingo Green is best bingo.
